Elusive Choice AU 1864 Twenty
1864 $20 AU55 NGC. This scarce Choice AU Civil War double eagle has considerable luster and the expected number of small abrasions on the left obverse field. The portrait and the reverse are relatively unabraded. Unlike the 1865, only a handful of pieces were recovered from the S.S. Republic.(Registry values: N1793)Coin Index Numbers: (NGC ID# 269S, PCGS# 8941, GSID# 9801)
