Scarce Finer
1864-S $20 MS61 NGC. Small S. This example displays rich
Midas-gold luster with a scattering of deeper ochre undertones.
There are some notable abrasions on the piece along Liberty's
cheek, though the coin still retains substantial allure. The issue
is seldom seen any finer, the current example at MS61 representing
the last accessible grade. NGC Census: 64 in 61, 26 finer
