1865-S $20 AU55 NGC. Luster resides in the recessed areas of this Choice AU S-mint double eagle. The yellow-gold surfaces exhibit good detail on most of the devices, including the often- weak centers of the obverse stars. As found on the great majority of all Type One San Francisco double eagles, this specimen reveals noticeable contacts, especially on Liberty's cheek and neck.(Registry values: N1793)
