Description

Shining AU58 1866 Twenty

1866 $20 AU58 NGC. Vibrantly lustrous with pale color that falls midway between canary-yellow and straw-gold. Well-defined everywhere save for the portrait, which shows a touch of rub to go with the softness of strike. Still, this is a high-quality near-Mint example of the first Motto double eagle issue struck at Philadelphia. NGC has graded 38 finer examples (10/09).(Registry values: N1793)
