Lovely 1866 Double Eagle, MS60
1866 $20 MS60 PCGS. This issue was the first to feature the IN GOD WE TRUST motto, which was added to the reverse above the eagle. Charming yellow-gold patina overlies the surfaces of this scarce issue. Numerous abrasions define the grade, but they barely obscure the dazzling luster. A sharply struck piece that is seldom seen in higher grades. Population: 10 in 60, 9 finer (7/08).(Registry values: N2998)Coin Index Numbers: (NGC ID# 269X, PCGS# 8949, GSID# 9803)
