Description
1867 Double Eagle, MS62+
A Rare Issue Any Finer
1867 $20 MS62+ PCGS. Although 1867 Liberty double eagles are
moderately available up to the MS62 grade level, the issue becomes
scarce at that level, and is surprisingly elusive any finer.
Overseas hoards have failed to add many examples above MS61. This
is a highly lustrous Plus-graded MS62 specimen that displays
smooth, minimally abraded surfaces and radiates outstanding eye
appeal. Mint-green and reddish-gold accents embellish the vibrant,
orange-gold coloration. The strike is sharp throughout. This coin
will be a welcome addition to the finest collection of Liberty
double eagles. Population: 68 in 62 (7 in 62+), 6 finer
(8/25).(Registry values: N4719)Coin Index Numbers: (NGC ID# 269Z, PCGS# 8951, Greysheet# 9804)
Weight: 33.44 grams
Metal: Gold
