Description
1867-S Liberty Twenty, MS61
Scarce and Underrated
1867-S $20 MS61 PCGS. From a mintage of 920,750 pieces, this
San Francisco double eagle date is usually found in About
Uncirculated condition, although Mint State examples can be
obtained with patience. This MS61 example is frosty and lustrous,
with a faint overlay of grayish patina that confirms the original

not conceal the underlying luster that radiates from both sides.
The 1867-S twenty is unknown above a single MS64 example and any
Uncirculated survivor is a prize. PCGS Population: 21 in 61, 10
