Choice AU 1868-S Type Two Twenty
1868-S $20 AU55 NGC. Struck too late to participate in the S.S. Republic or S.S. Brother Jonathan shipwreck hoards, the 1868-S is rare in Mint State, and is elusive at the Choice AU level. The present apricot-gold example has ample luster and a good strike. Small to moderate marks are scattered but are never obtrusive.(Registry values: N1793)Coin Index Numbers: (NGC ID# 26A4, PCGS# 8954, GSID# 9909)
