Description

1869 Twenty Dollar, MS60
Rare Type Two Date

1869 $20 MS60 PCGS. Seldom available in any grade, the 1869 double eagle is genuinely rare with only a few dozen known in full Mint State. Some representatives of this date have dull, satinlike surfaces, but this example is reflective with an abundance of luster. Well-struck and frosty devices are surrounded by somewhat abraded fields, which are to be expected in this MS60 grade. Population: 5 in 60, 24 finer (12/13).(Registry values: N2998)

Coin Index Numbers: (NGC ID# 26A5, PCGS# 8955, Greysheet# 9806)

Weight: 33.44 grams

Metal: 90% Gold, 10% Copper
