Description

Near-Mint State 1869-S Twenty
With Rich Orange-Gold Surfaces

1869-S $20 AU58 NGC. The 1869-S is widely available in lower circulated grades but seldom seen in Mint State, where most survivors are MS60 or MS61. This near-Mint State coin competes successfully with the aesthetics of such pieces, offering essentially full luster over orange-gold surfaces. The few surface ticks are mostly confined to Liberty's chin and not at all distracting. A few faint grease stains (as struck) appear on the reverse rim at 10:30.(Registry values: N1793)
