Crisply Struck 1870 Double Eagle, AU53
1870 $20 AU53 NGC. This coin hails from a year that the Philadelphia Mint managed to produce circulating coins of 16 different types, including 155,185 double eagles. (Several of the smaller-denomination issues were, however, token quantities.) This AU53 twenty shows lustrous yellow-gold color with moderately abraded surfaces and a bold strike.(Registry values: N1793)Coin Index Numbers: (NGC ID# 26A7, PCGS# 8957, GSID# 9807)
