Description
1871-CC Double Eagle, AU Details
Key Date
1871-CC $20 -- Cleaned -- NGC Details. AU. Winter 1-A. The
1871-CC double eagle is the second key issue from the Carson City
mint, only surpassed by the 1870-CC. The issue was ostensibly more
difficult to obtain, and while efforts made to repatriate the issue
continue to prove successful in increasing the availability by a
substantial margin, it has not been enough to satisfy the
collective demand. This piece displays uniform gold coloring with
scattered abrasions and marks in the field, though none prove
overly egregious to the appeal. Some light circulation wear is
along Liberty's hair as well as the ribbons on the reverse, though
this is expected given the grade assessment. The present specimen
represents a phenomenal opportunity for Carson City Mint collectors
to obtain this key date issue.(Registry values: N1793)
