1871-CC $20 --Whizzed--NCS. AU Details. This rare date, low mintage example has Mint State sharpness on the reverse. The obverse has been whizzed, and both sides are hairlined. Nonetheless desirable, since branch mint gold authority Douglas Winter states the 1871-CC is the second rarest Carson City issue within the double eagle denomination, trailing only the famous 1870-CC.(Registry values: N1793)Coin Index Numbers: (NGC ID# 26AB, PCGS# 8961, Greysheet# 9913)
