Delightful 1872-CC Double Eagle, About Uncirculated

1872-CC $20 AU50 NGC. A scarce issue in all grades with a mintage of just 26,900 pieces, the 1872-CC is particularly elusive in About Uncirculated and above. Bright luster radiates beneath the pleasing yellow-gold patina. The surfaces are lightly abraded save for a shallow dig to the left of Liberty's chin. That mark, and a small blemish to the right of the date, can be useful for future identification purposes. (Registry values: N2998)
