1872-CC $20 -- Improperly Cleaned -- NCS. AU Details. Variety 1-B, wide CC mintmark. This AU-level example displays strong detail with straw-gold patina and slightly glossy surfaces. Scattered abrasions accompany the grade. When tilted beneath a light, elements of reflectivity are revealed in the protected portions of the fields. The 1872-CC is an early Carson City issue, struck to the extent of only 26,900 coins. Examples are elusive in high grade.
