1872-CC $20 XF40 PCGS. Though not in the same tier of rarity as its CC-mint double eagle predecessors, the 1872-CC twenty is elusive and prized nonetheless, particularly in XF and better grades. This yellow-orange example retains considerable radiance despite a measure of overall wear. The obverse is lightly abraded overall with a characteristically soft strike. On the reverse, several more significant abrasions are visible, including lines of reed marks at the E and R of AMERICA.(Registry values: N1793)
