Description

Choice XF 1872-CC Twenty

1872-CC $20 XF45 NGC. Although Carson City had been producing double eagles for only two years previously, the 1872-CC mintage was a respectable 26,900 pieces, and examples today are available in Choice XF to AU condition. This piece shows a single mentionable arcing scrape from below the chin, through the bust truncation and above the 72, but otherwise there are no singular marks. The yellow-gold surfaces display considerable retained luster.(Registry values: N1793)
