Lustrous 1873 Open 3 Twenty, MS63
1873 $20 Open 3 MS63 NGC. A frosty Select Mint State double eagle, this 1873 Open 3 piece has exceptional eye appeal. Although 1.7 million pieces were coined, making the date one of the most plentiful among all Type Two twenties, it is conditionally rare in MS63 or finer grades. While NGC and PCGS have certified 167 similar examples, the two services have only graded seven finer pieces (11/09).(Registry values: N4719)Coin Index Numbers: (NGC ID# 26AH, PCGS# 8967, GSID# 9811)
