Description
1874 Liberty Double Eagle, MS61
Scarce in Mint State
1874 $20 MS61 NGC. CAC. With a reported mintage of 366,800
pieces, the 1874 Liberty Head double eagle is scarce in MS61 and
rare in any higher grade. The present coin possesses considerable
eye appeal for an MS61. The strike is sharp on the peripheral
devices, with just a touch of softness on the hair. The light
greenish-gold surfaces are enhanced by softly frosted mint luster.
A scattering of minor handling marks defines the grade.(Registry values: N1793)Coin Index Numbers: (NGC ID# 26AN, PCGS# 8970, GSID# 9812)
