Description

1874 Twenty Dollar, MS62
Decidedly Rare Any Finer

1874 $20 MS62 PCGS. This Type Two Philadelphia double eagle becomes notably scarce at the MS62 grade. Finer examples are both rare and expensive. This is an especially lustrous 1874 twenty for the grade, with frosty surfaces and sharply defined motifs. Vibrant rich-gold color reveals some grade-consistent abrasions in the right obverse field and minor chatter on Liberty's cheek. Eye appeal alone places this coin as suitable for any Mint State double eagle set. Population: 88 in 62 (1 in 62+), 9 finer (3/24).(Registry values: N4719)

Coin Index Numbers: (NGC ID# 26AN, PCGS# 8970, Greysheet# 9812)
