Description

Condition Scarcity 1874-CC Twenty, AU53

1874-CC $20 AU53 NGC. The 1874-CC double eagle is readily available through the lower levels of AU due to hoards that have surfaced in Europe and South America. Higher-level AU coins are more difficult to acquire, and Mint State pieces are rare. Traces of luster reside in the recesses of this honey-gold AU53 example. Well defined save for the usual softness on Liberty's hair curls. The light marks scattered about are not disturbing.(Registry values: N1793)
