Description
1874-CC Liberty Head Double Eagle, AU53
Popular, Available Date
1874-CC $20 AU53 NGC. The 1874-CC Liberty Head double eagle
is an available date in the context of the series. Doug Winter
believes 1,500-2,000 examples survive in all grades today, with
AU53 specimens becoming slightly scarce. The present coin displays
attractive greenish-gold color and much original mint luster. Some
light wear is evident on Liberty's hair, but nearly all of the
original detail remains on the other devices. A small reverse rim
bruise is noted at 6 o'clock.(Registry values: N1793)Coin Index Numbers: (NGC ID# 26AP, PCGS# 8971, GSID# 9920)
