Description

Early Carson City Twenty, 1874-CC, XF45

1874-CC $20 XF45 NGC. The 1874-CC is the earliest year that a double eagle is widely available from the Carson City mint. This is an original piece that retains a surprising amount of luster. The "old gold" surfaces have numerous small abrasions peppered over each side, and there are a couple of streaks of grease that were struck into the planchet at the time of manufacture.(Registry values: N1793)
