Description
1875 Liberty Double Eagle, MS61
Type Example, CAC
1875 $20 MS61 NGC. CAC. Rich frosty luster wraps around this
autumn-gold piece. It is generally well struck, with Liberty's hair
showing softness which is typical of the issue. This piece is
heavily abraded, due to most Philadelphia examples having to endure
long shipping distances (in mint bags) before distribution. A minor
mint-made copper spot can be seen in Liberty's lower hair curl, and
two very small bits of die grease (as struck) are on the right
reverse. Cartwheel effects are visible with overall pleasing eye
appeal recognized by CAC.(Registry values: N1793)From The Warrior Mountain Collection, Part II.
