Description
Lustrous 1875-CC Double Eagle, MS62
1875-CC $20 MS62 PCGS. From an original mintage of 111,151 coins, the 1875-CC double eagle is the most common Liberty Head, With Motto issue from the Carson City Mint, according to Jeff Garrett and Ron Guth (2006). It should also be mentioned, however, that just 52 examples have been graded finer than MS62, by NGC and PCGS combined, as of (8/08). This piece displays luxuriant mint frost and boldly struck devices. A somewhat scuffy obverse keeps it from grading higher.
