Description
Nice 1876 Double Eagle, MS62
1876 $20 MS62 PCGS. CAC. The design elements display relatively sharp definition, except for the usual softness in Liberty's hair. Attractive apricot-gold coloration is seen on both sides. While a scattering of small contact marks results in occasional localized interruption of the luster flow, the coin does not possess the "numerous deep, detracting marks" that Douglas Winter and Michael Fuljenz (1999) say are found on the typical 1876. This is likely one of the reasons for the CAC label.(Registry values: N2998)Coin Index Numbers: (NGC ID# 26AV, PCGS# 8976, GSID# 9814)
