Description
1876 Liberty Twenty Dollar, MS63
Conditionally Rare Centennial Issue
1876 $20 MS63 PCGS Secure. The U.S. Centennial double eagle
issues from the three mints that struck them are doubly popular in
Mint State, as conditionally rare examples of the Type Two coinage
featuring the motto IN GOD WE TRUST and the denomination TWENTY D.
This Select specimen is well struck overall, with a good impression
on the obverse stars and minor softness on Liberty's hair and the
eagle feathers. Strong mint luster radiates from the bright
orange-gold surfaces. A couple of minor reverse rim bruises appear
at 10 o'clock, and a sprinkling of minor field abrasions on both
sides precludes an even finer grade. Population: 30 in 63, 17 finer
(6/10).(Registry values: N4719)Coin Index Numbers: (NGC ID# 26AV, PCGS# 8976, GSID# 9814)
