Description

1876-CC Double Eagle, AU55
Appealing Carson City Issue

1876-CC $20 AU55 NGC. CAC. Variety 5-A. A heavily exported issue, the 1876-CC twenty once was rare in AU until many coins returned to this country from foreign hoards. This pleasing, olive-gold example has reddish-gold highlights on lightly abraded surfaces with glints of remaining mint luster. There are no deep or distracting abrasions -- rather, circulation has muted the impact of the bagmarks. Only light, even wear affects the strong strike on this popular Carson City date.(Registry values: N1793)
