1877 Double Eagle, MS61 Prooflike
Sole PCGS Prooflike Coin
1877 $20 MS61 Prooflike PCGS. PCGS recently began
recognizing prooflike fields for Liberty double eagles, and this
piece is the only 1877 coin thus far designated Prooflike at that
service. NGC lists 35 Prooflike pieces and one Deep Prooflike, the
latter in AU58. In MS61 Prooflike, this PCGS coin is among the
finest Prooflike 1877 twenties certified (8/19). The fields are
indeed deeply reflective, providing a glimmering backdrop for the
frosted, sharp design elements. Each side has bright yellow-gold
