Description

Luminous Near-Mint 1877-CC Twenty

1877-CC $20 AU58 NGC. The first Type Three double eagle issue struck at the Carson City Mint has been repatriated in quantity in the last two decades, and so pleasing examples are much more available than they were in the 1970s and early 1980s. Most pieces circulated to some degree before moving into overseas storage. This coin is one of them, though it shows only trifling friction on the high points, and the luminous honey-tinged orange-gold surfaces retain virtually intact luster. Minimally flawed with considerable visual appeal. NGC has graded 21 finer examples (8/08).(Registry values: N1793)
