Description
1877-CC $20 VF30 NGC. One state away, the San Francisco Mint struck more than 1.7 million double eagles in 1877. But Carson City managed only 42,565 pieces, as the facility concentrated on silver coinage that year. The present example retains pockets of mint luster, and although wear is evident on the highpoints, the surfaces are only moderately abraded.(Registry values: N1793)Coin Index Numbers: (NGC ID# 26AZ, PCGS# 8983, GSID# 9926)
