Description

1877-CC Twenty Dollar, XF45
First Type Three CC Issue

1877-CC $20 XF45 NGC. Winter 1-A. Die line from tar 10 to rim, clash marks above earlobe. The initial Type Three Carson City double eagle issue, the 1877-CC has a mintage of just 42,565 pieces. While conditionally rare in Mint State, a number of repatriated pieces have entered the market and the issue rates as one of the more available in circulated grades. This luminous and well struck orange-gold piece has light, even wear and scattered marks across the surfaces. Slightly deeper color appears around the devices.
