Attractive 1879-CC Double Eagle, XF45

1879-CC $20 XF45 NGC. Always a popular issue because of its impressively low mintage of only 10,708 coins, the 1879-CC is not quite as difficult as one might imagine from the low production. Probably 300-350 pieces are known in all grades, most of which are VF-XF. This reddish-tinted Choice XF coin has faint remnants of reflectivity in the fields and is well struck. Both sides are minimally abraded.(Registry values: N1793)
