1879-CC $20 XF45 PCGS. Variety 1-A. An extraordinary example of this favorite Carson City double eagle, minimally marked on the slightly reflective fields and with a clean cheek on Liberty. The devices are extra-sharp for the Choice XF grade, with crisp centers on the stars and just minor blending on the high points from brief circulation. There are simply no heavy bagmarks to mention at the assigned level.

More impressively, the coin is drop-dead original with pure olive-gold coloration and underlying mint luster still in evidence. An essentially ideal coin in a preferred collector grade, wholesome and rare to find in such a nearly unblemished state. Housed in a green label holder and worthy of a strong bid, since without doubt this lovely CC-Mint twenty will have many suitors.
