1883-CC $20 AU50 PCGS. A modest mintage of 59,962 Liberty Head double eagles was accomplished at the Carson City Mint in 1883. The issue was present in several European hoards, making it relatively available in circulated grades today. The date is quite popular with type collectors, as well as Western gold specialists. The present coin features minimally abraded surfaces, with a sharp strike and pleasing reddish tinted color.(Registry values: N1793)
