Description
1883-CC Double Eagle, AU58
Remarkably Unabraded for the Grade
1883-CC $20 AU58 PCGS. CAC. Variety 2-A. The surfaces are
noticeably less bagmarked than even some Mint State examples of
this popular Carson City issue. Reddish-gold luster peeks out
around the sharply struck portrait and creeps into the surrounding
fields on the obverse, while the reverse displays a more generous
portion of remaining mint luster. A pair of short marks -- one
beneath the chin, the other on the neck -- are noted, but they are
of little consequence for the grade. Orange and green accents
enhance the natural, medium-gold coloration.(Registry values: N1793)Coin Index Numbers: (NGC ID# 26BH, PCGS# 8999, Greysheet# 9937)
Weight: 33.44 grams
