Description
1883-CC Liberty Double Eagle, MS61
Rare in Finer Grades
1883-CC $20 MS61 PCGS. Variety 2-A. From a reported mintage
of 59,962 pieces, the 1883-CC double eagle is a relatively
available issue in the Carson City series. The 1883-CC was
well-produced and its general high quality and high survival rate
make it a favorite choice of mintmark type collectors. The present
coin is an attractive Mint State specimen with unusually
well-detailed design elements and vivid orange-gold surfaces that
retain almost all of their original mint luster. Lightly marked for
the grade, this coin exhibits surprisingly strong visual appeal.
