Description

1883-S $20 MS62 PCGS. Jeff Garrett and Ron Guth (2006) indicate that the San Francisco double eagles of this period were carelessly handled in overseas trade, and are consequently heavily bagmarked. This well struck MS62 example displays soft luster and pronounced field-motif contrast on the reverse. While possessing some scuffs and light marks, this specimen is not "heavily" bagmarked.(Registry values: N2998)
