Description
Smooth AU55 1885-CC Twenty
1885-CC $20 AU55 PCGS. The Carson City Mint ceased coinage on March 18, 1885 for four years, and this accounts for the rarity of the 1885-CC. The mintage was 9,450 pieces, a fraction of the 81,139 double eagles struck at the Western facility in 1884. The present example shows slight friction on the cheek, but luster is abundant and no marks are consequential. Population: 30 in 55, 56 finer (2/10).(Registry values: N2998)Coin Index Numbers: (NGC ID# 26BN, PCGS# 9004, GSID# 9941)
Metal: 90% Gold, 10% Copper
