Description
Attractive 1885-S Double Eagle MS64
1885-S $20 MS64 NGC. The challenge with the 1885-S double eagle is not in locating an Uncirculated representative for it is an issue of relative abundance at that level, but in finding a Choice, minimally abraded example. While not without a few scattered obverse abrasions, this example is one of the nicer 1885-S twenties we have seen. The strike is typically bold and potent luster even incorporates a bit of prooflike flash on the reverse. Importantly, one a single Gem has been certified by both major services combined.
