Description
1887-S Liberty Head Twenty, MS62
Scarce Issue in Higher Grades
1887-S $20 MS62 PCGS. A relatively modest mintage of 283,000
double eagles was achieved at the San Francisco Mint in 1887. The
issue is not too difficult to locate in MS62 condition, but it
becomes very scarce at the Select level. The attractive rose-gold
centers of this piece are surrounded by rings of greenish-gold at
the rims. The lustrous surfaces are lightly abraded for the grade
and the design elements are sharply detailed.(Registry values: N2998)Coin Index Numbers: (NGC ID# 26BS, PCGS# 9007, GSID# 9943)
