Orange-Gold 1889-CC Double Eagle, XF45

1889-CC $20 XF45 PCGS. The small mintage of Carson City double eagles in 1889, a mere 30,945 coins, marked the first double eagle production in four years, since 1885. This piece shows pronounced orange-gold coloration, with light, grade-consistent wear but surprisingly few contact marks. A couple of tiny grease stains (as struck) on each side are undistracting.(Registry values: N1793)
