Description

1890 $20 MS62 PCGS. Production of double eagles at the Philadelphia Mint significantly decreased beginning in 1880, and only 75,940 pieces were struck in 1890, which is less than a tenth of the San Francisco production for that year. Seldom seen finer, this MS62 representative has charming yellow and orange patina on each side, with plenty of luster throughout. A sharply struck example with insignificant scattered abrasions. (Registry values: N4719)
