Type Three Condition Rarity
1890 $20 MS63 PCGS. The low mintage of just 75,995 pieces
makes the 1890 double eagle a Type Three rarity in the Liberty Head
series. Frosted, vibrant surfaces on this medium-gold example
feature rose and canary-gold highlights. A razor-sharp strike and
plentiful cartwheel luster ensure its Select Uncirculated status.
PCGS only grudgingly grants a finer grade. Population: 49 in 63, 6
