1890-CC $20 AU58 PCGS. The 1890-CC double eagle is an available date by Carson City standards, with an original mintage of 91,209 pieces. Experts estimate a surviving population of 2,500-3,000 pieces, with perhaps 1,200-1,400 specimens extant in AU grades. The present coin is an attractive near-Mint survivor, with sharp detail present on all design elements. The pleasing orange-gold surfaces are lightly abraded and display strong mint luster.(Registry values: N1793)
