Description
1890-CC Liberty Twenty, XF45
Desirable Old West Double Eagle
1890-CC $20 XF45 NGC. Winter 1-A. The 1890-CC double eagle
is a collectible branch mint date with just over 91,000 pieces
struck. This Choice XF example exhibits light wear but the devices
remain sharp on pleasing honey-gold surfaces. Consistent with the
issue, this XF45 double eagle is well-struck and retains strong
amounts of luster, much of it tinged in soft lilac within the
protected areas. A loupe reveals tiny and inoffensive remnants of
die grease on Liberty's jawline and neck. This variety shows the CC
centered above and between TWENTY and DOLLARS.(Registry values: N1793)From The Grant Powell Collection.
