Description

1890-CC $20 XF45 PCGS. Ex: Rainy Day Collection. Double eagles in PCGS holders bearing the mysterious Rainy Day pedigree emerged in quantity in 1999. The seller would have been better off waiting, since gold prices soared in the subsequent decade. This orange-gold Carson City example has substantial luster, especially on the reverse. Unblemished aside from a mark near the R in AMERICA. The lower left reverse legends are lightly die doubled.(Registry values: N1793)
