Description
Lustrous 1890-S Double Eagle, MS63
1890-S $20 MS63 PCGS. Only 802,750 double eagles were coined in San Francisco during the year, and few have survived in better Mint State grades. The present specimen is highly lustrous with excellent, nearly mark-free surfaces. In recent years, large quantities of heavily abraded examples have been returned from overseas, only further emphasizing the importance of Select and Choice Mint State examples. PCGS has only certified 18 finer pieces (8/08).(Registry values: N4719)Coin Index Numbers: (NGC ID# 26BZ, PCGS# 9015, GSID# 9948)
