Description
1891-CC Twenty, AU55
Rich Coloration and Well Struck
1891-CC $20 AU55 PCGS. CAC. Variety 1-A. Only one die pair
was used to strike the 5,000 coins in Carson City in 1891. The
surfaces display rich patina and are unquestionably original. The
strike is boldly brought up in all areas. Some of the original
luster remains; enough, in fact, to reveal traces of modest
brightness in the fields when viewed at direct angles. Scattered
abrasions are consistent with a CC-mint twenty at this grade level,
and most are somewhat subdued by the original texture.Ex: Aaron Bliss Collection / FUN Signature (Heritage, 1/2003), lot 9087.(Registry values: N2998)
