1892 $20 --Improperly Cleaned--NGC Details. AU. The 1892 Liberty Head double eagle boasts a minuscule mintage of 4,430 pieces. Jeff Garrett and Ron Guth estimate only 150-200 examples survive today. The present coin is sharply detailed, with reflective, prooflike surfaces and attractive greenish-gold color. Only the slightest hint of wear can be detected, but the reflective fields tend to highlight the scattering of minor abrasions on both sides.(Registry values: N2998)
